Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho both insist Manchester United remain in the title race despite the Premier League champions falling to a 1-0 defeat at home to Everton on Wednesday evening.
The Gunners registered a 2-0 victory over Hull City following goals in
each half from Nicklas Bendtner and Mesut Ozil but Wenger maintains it
would be wrong to write off United at this stage of the season.
“It’s still early,” said the Frenchman.
“It’s a surprising defeat but it’s still early. We’ve seen it before - 12 points on us - but of course we just have to keep winning to have a chance and not worry too much about the others.”
Chelsea remain second in the table, four points behind Arsenal, following their 4-3 victory over Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.
